500

I have plans tonight or tomorrow to post another book review, but I wanted to take this opportunity to commemorate another milestone.

This marks my 500th blog, dating back to when I first started it in July 2009. A lot has changed since that first blog, a result of advice given to me at a writer’s conference in Park City, Utah. “You have to have a blog,” they told me, and I wondered how in the world I would ever be able to write about something an average of three times a week. No one has that much to say.

Well, color me wrong. Here are some of the statistics since then:

* This blog has had 13,436 views. The record for most views of one blog was 441.

* 426 comments have been posted (not counting the spam I fight every week).

* I have 542 regular followers who subscribe to this blog, many of them coming from my 20,696 followers on Twitter.

* Since 2009, I have written blogs on 55 categories.

I need to thank you, the reader, for keeping me going for the past five years. And if you are one of the many who read this blog because you appreciate the advice I share on writing (not everyone appreciates said advice), you’ll be pleased to know that I will be coming out with an ebook on writing psychology this summer, entitled Write Thinking. It should appear sometime in the next month.

It’s been fun. It’s been real. It’s been real fun.

Let’s keep doing it.
