Announcing the 2011 30-day Summer Writing Challenge

Ok kids, if you didn’t get involved with this last summer, now’s your chance to get in on the fun. Here’s the deal:

1. The trick is to write 1,500 words a day for 30 days for a combined total of 45,000 words.

2. You don’t have to work on one item during that time. The 1,500 words can be on blogs, novels, short stories, poetry or any other writing project.

3. There are two–count them, two–opportunities to get involved. The first begins May 15 and ends June 14. The second runs the entire month of July. (And yes, I am aware that both those time periods involve 31 days, but nobody’s perfect. Consider it a grace day. 🙂

4. The fun comes from comparing notes with others who are doing the same thing. This challenge is sponsored by the Rough Writers, and you can compare notes at their website here:

We invite you to join us for fun and self revelation!
